Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible

Late on Monday I began to feel a bit ill. Don't worry, this isn't another appendicitis story! But nausea, headache, &c manifested. On waking on Tuesday morning I was totally laid low. It took a great deal of effort to drag myself out of bed. I felt so bad I believe I couldn't have driven safely. Heck, I couldn't even walk quickly! I usually volunteer at a charity shop, but not yesterday, and not today, either. Today things are better than they were, but I still don't feel well. I'm going to keep stuffing myself with vitamin C, hoping it's a cold rather than flu. Needless to say, I haven't managed anything  on the tower. I hope none of you has this! Fingers crossed I'll have something for you next time.

  1. Hope it clears up soon, but definitely take the time away until you feel good again. If you have them in or can get out to a shop, I recommend a light but sumptious home-made, nutrient-rich meal, a wide mix of ingredients.

    1. Thankee! Was a bit too out of it yesterday. I've no appetite, though. Knocked up a stir fry just now (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet red pepper, aubergine, courgette, mushroom, ginger, chilli, garlic, rice, soy sauce, cashews, lots of black pepper), but haven't managed to eat more than a third of it. I think most of my calories are coming from orange juice!

    2. Sounds like you're well on top of it - that's a very fine meal. If you cooked it too, well done! It's a rare skill, but very valuable. The trouble can't last forever, especially if you treat your body this well.

    3. Thankee! Aye, I'm quite a dab hand in the kitchen, if I say so myself. I do feel better today than yesterday, and yesterday I felt better than the day before. I might feel up to going back to volunteering again tomorrow.

  2. seems like it's going around. I was shaking uncontrollably last Tuesday night. Cycling between too hot and too cold and it felt like someone had been at each of my joints with a rock hammer overnight. I felt nauseous too but not sure if it was a bug, build up of stress or given a recent eye test anomally I may have Hyperthyroidism. Get well soon.

    1. Cheers, dwez. I hope it's nothing too serious at your end, either! That sounds nasty. It was just my head killing me, not every joint. Eugh.

    2. I'll second that. I think it's a lot about the long winter. Our bodies are just worn out, with the higher physical effort, the lower goodness in food and lack of light.
